The Independent & Free Press apologizes for the error. Correction McIsaac back for more 'Mayhem' Acton resident and three-time na- tional boxing champion Heather "Mayhem" McIsaac attended the On- tario Boxing Championships in March bringing home a silver medal in 54kg senior division, two divisions higher than her regular weight class of 48 kgs. Because of that performance, McIsaac, 20, will represent Team On- tario at many national and internation- al tournaments and events throughout the coming year. After eight years of competing, this will be McIsaac's sixth time represent- ing Ontario, but the fi rst time she's been eligible to compete in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2015 Pan- American Games and the 2016 Olym- pic Games in Brazil. Returning to the sport after a shoul- der injury, which kept her out of the ring for a year, McIsaac has been training about 25 hours a week at the BigTyme Boxing Gym in Orangeville, under the tutelage of three time Cana- dian middleweight champion Byron Mackie. Along with numerous local club shows and skills competitions through- out the year, McIsaac will be competing at The National Elite Boxing Champi- onships in Regina, Saskatchewan in October, and this August will travel to Kansas City for the Ringside World Championships before heading to Ire- land for a friendly scrimmage with Olympic prospect Ciere Smith. Acton resident Heather McIsaac hones her ring skills in a sparring session with a fellow teammate in Orange- ville recently. "Mayhem" McIsaac has returned to the ring after sitting out a year due to a shoulder injury but she's earned her spot back on Team Ontario and fi gures to have a full slate of national and international tournaments this year.
