Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) Hospitals currently use the recommended mammography technologies that were identified by Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) as being the most effective in detecting breast cancer. HHS' Georgetown Hospital uses Screen Film technology. That means that the image is captured within a cassette using mammographic film. The film is then processed much like a film camera to make a negative. Georgetown Hospital's Diagnostic Imaging Department is also affiliated with the Ontario Breast Screening Program and must report monthly to ensure quality assurance. Screen Film technology has been identified by CCO as being one of the most effective mammography technologies for detecting cancer. HHS communities can be assured that all our Hospitals provide quality mammograms. To book an appointment at Georgetown Hospital, please call 905-873-4596.
