DATE: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 TIME: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PLACE: Peel Regional Police Association Meeting Hall 10675 Mississauga Road, Brampton (2 km north of Bovaird Dr) In 2008, Brampton Brick Ltd. submitted a re-zoning application to the City to permit the extraction of shale and related uses. The 34.9-hectare (86 acre) site is located on the east side of Winston Churchill Boulevard, north of Old Pine Crest Road, and is within the Greenbelt Plan (see map). An associated application for a quarry licence was submitted by Brampton Brick to the Provincial Ministry of Natural Resources, under the Aggregate Resources Act in 2010. The City retained consultants to review the technical materials that were submitted by Brampton Brick in support of their re- zoning and licence application. In response to the peer review fi ndings, Brampton Brick submitted addenda and response materials. The City then initiated a second round of peer reviews for these new materials. The purpose of the open house is to present the fi ndings of this second round of peer reviews. The City's consultants will be present to answer questions about their fi ndings. An updated site plan for the proposed Norval Quarry will also be available for viewing and comment. Input from the open house will be addressed in a future staff report to City Council. If you are unable to attend the open house, we invite you to visit the project webpage http://www.brampton.ca/en/Business/planning-development/projects-studies/ Pages/Norval-Quarry-Re-Zoning.aspx to view the second peer review reports and other information related to this application.
