Bread Basket director Don Burt (top) oversaw loading the numerous shopping carts of food, as Walmart employees (from left) Jeffrey McDonald, Kevin Theodoropolus, Daniel Arsenault and Harman Ganda loaded the truck. During the grand re-opening of Walmart at George- town Market Place, Links2Care received a $1,000 donation, presented by (from left) Walmart employ- ees Amanda Stroink, Jessika Hole, Bushra Saddiqua, Link2Care executive director Sandra Melhuish and Walmart store manager Vanessa Bradley. Cheques were also presented to: • Glen Williams Public School principal Vince Cun- dari-- $800 donation to the school, presented by department manager Sharon Humphries, • Emily Clark of Children's Miracle Network with Sick Kids Foundation, who accepted a cheque for $2,000 from Walmart employee Amanda Stroink and store manager Vanessa Bradley, • $750 to Autism Dog Services Store manager Vanessa Bradley also presented long- time Walmart employee Heather McEachern with flowers to celebrate 20 years with the company. Halton Hills Furniture and Appliances is Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for June. Located at 2 Main St N, Acton, the family-owned business has been serving customers since 1972, when it was started by Jake Kuiken, and later taken over by his son Ron Kuiken in 1991. Georgetown Toyota donates $5k to HHAUG Kevin Wood of Georgetown Toyota (right) was joined by his staff as he presented a cheque for $5,000 to Halton Hills Arena Users Group (HHAUG), which was accepted by HHAUG committee member Steve Highfield (left) and co-chair Bob Hooper. The money will go towards the Stay Home and Play Campaign-- the fundraising effort to raise $2 million for three new ice pad surfaces.
