Blair Davies (91) of Christ the King's Jaguars chipped a shot over the White Oaks' goal- tender's right shoulder for a shorthanded marker during the home side's 9-0 victory over their counterparts from Oakville on Tuesday afternoon at the Mold-Masters SportPlex in Halton Secondary School Athletic Association boys' hockey action. It was the Jaguars' first game back after the break for exams and the defending Halton champs now have a 4-2-0 record in the Tier I division, with the playoffs set to face off Feb. 24 in Oakville. Among the other CtK goal scorers Tuesday were Jamie Stoyles (2), Brad Ranson, Davies, Josh Kalbehn, Teagan Gillian, Cody Menzies and Jacob Harbinson. Trevor Hennessy and Devin Blanchard teamed up to post the shutout. The Jaguars are just a month away from a trip to Europe in which they'll play a series of exhibition games against teams in the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany during the March Break. Next up for the Jags is a road game Thursday afternoon against Oakville-Trafalgar. The Halton Hills Krause Family Re/Max Realty Thunder completed their regular season without a single blemish, post- ing a 24-0-0 mark in the Tyke 2 division, making them the only team at any age group in Tri-County loop to go unbeaten and untied. The tyke#1 Thunder aver- aged 6.5 goals a game on of- fence and allowed just 20 goals all season. There are no Ontario Minor Hockey Association playdowns for tyke so the Thunder added to its win streak with a 2-1 vic- tory in Burlington Monday night to begin the 10-game pre- liminary round-robin series, which also involves Niagara Falls, Guelph and Brampton. Cole Tannahill and Braydon Hobson scored for the visi- tors, with assists going to Chris Caissie, Evan McMillan, Chris- tian McCarthy and Jaedon Holloway. Wyatt Sutcliffe and Noah Tegelaar shared the win in goal. The tyke Thunder's next game is against Brampton Sat- urday at 3 p.m. at the Mold- Masters SportsPlex. Jaguars show no rust in shutout win Raiders tripped up again by resurgent IceHawks For the second time in five days, the Georgetown Raiders didn't have an an- swer for trying to solve rookie Milton IceHawks' goalie Ben Blacker. The Raiders dropped a 4-1 decision to the visiting IceHawks Tuesday night in a crucial Ontario Junior Hockey League contest just a couple of weeks ahead of the start of the post-season. As they did in a 2-1 loss in Milton last Friday, the 26-19-2 Raiders peppered Blacker with shots -- 51 altogether -- but the 16-year-old from Oakville was named the game's first star again. Georgetown outshot Milton 23-9 alone in the first period, yet came out of it trailing 2-0. Liam Board's power play goal near the end of the middle stanza was the only goal for the Raid- ers, who had won seven of their last nine starts heading into the contest. Not since the mid-2000s have Georgetown and Milton both been near the top of the standings this late in the season as the IceHawks have struggled in recent years, yet only 82 people were in attendance for Tuesday night's tilt. The loss was damaging for George- town's hopes of clinching home-ice advantage in the opening round of playoffs as Milton and Buffalo both surpassed the Raiders in the South/ West Conference standings. With only six regular-season games remaining, the Raiders are in fifth place, just a point ahead of the St. Mi- chael's Buzzers, and those two teams will collide Friday in Toronto. Two games against powerful East Division opponents follow, with the first-place Kingston Voyageurs visiting the Alcott Arena Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a trip to Cobourg to face the Cou- gars set for Monday night. In off-ice news this week, veteran Raiders' defenceman Phil Kiss has committed to Curry College in Milton, Mass. starting in the fall. The 21-year- old from Burlington has four goals and 14 assists this season and has played in all 47 games for Georgetown.
