The 5-foot-9, 195-pounder from Maple, Ont. is set to play for Vaughan at the OHL Cup during the March Break, but for now, Georgetown head coach & GM Greg Walters -- along with several scouts -- are anxious to see what Mascherin will do next. "He's a special player and that shot of his... I haven't seen a player his age shoot the puck like he can besides (Steven) Stamkos," said Walters, who was an associate coach with the OHL's Sarnia Sting when current Tampa Bay Lightning star Stamkos played major ju- nior there. In game one, Mascherin had the only first-period marker before the teams traded blows in the middle stanza, heading to the intermission tied 3-3. Having compiled five goals and seven assists in his five regular- season appearances with the Raiders, Mascherin then sup- plied the clinching goal with less than four minutes remain- ing in regulation.
