Yard waste in cardboard boxes, Blue Boxes, GreenCarts, plastic bags, compostable bags or biodegradable bags will not be collected. • Place yard waste labels on reusable containers. Containers must be no heavier than 23 kg and may have a capacity up to 125 L. • Bundle and tie brush in bundles no larger than 1.2 m x 0.6 m (4 ft x 2 ft) wide, with branches a maximum of 7.5 cm (3 in) in diameter. Until May 30, 2014, Halton Region is providing the following options for storm-generated bulk brush in Halton Hills collection areas 3 - 5: • Bulk brush may be placed out on regular yard waste/garbage days. • Bulk brush must be placed in one pile no larger than 3 m long by 1.8 m wide x 1.2 m high (10 ft long by 6 ft wide by 4 ft high), with branches a maximum of 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. Bulk brush larger than the specified dimensions will not be collected. • Bulk brush must be free of loose debris such as leaves and trimmings. • Bulk brush will be collected separately from yard waste and collection may be delayed due to high volume of bulk brush at the curb. • Ensure your Blue Box, GreenCart, garbage and yard waste is not blocked by bulk brush. Halton Hills Until May 31, 2014, Halton residents and contractors can drop off yard waste and bulk brush at the HaltonWaste Management Site, free of charge. The HaltonWaste Management Site is located at 5400 Regional Road 25, Milton, and is open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mixed waste loads are subject to standard disposal fees. Find your waste collection day visit YardWaste & Bulk Brush Drop off Funding non-profit programs and projects in Halton Continuing its commitment to enhance the health and wellbeing of all residents by supporting not-for-profit programs, Regional Council recently approved one-year funding for 20 non-profit programs and projects in Halton as part of the 2014 allocation for the Halton Region Community Investment Fund. The one-year grants, totalling $311,649, will assist community health and social service programs to enhance equipment, services or initiatives so that they can continue to make important contributions to the community.
