Designed to help parents navigate their child's transition to school, the online resource provides parents with a variety of information, including checklists, growth and development milestones, activities, community sup- ports, and more. "While the transition to school can be an exciting time for families, it can also bring about many questions and concerns from parents," said Region- al Chair Gary Carr. "This online tool provides parents with the information they need to help build their child's skills and confidence to get started on the right foot and succeed in school." In Halton, according to the Our Kids Network Report Card based on Early Development Indicators, almost one in four five-year-olds is not prepared for school. Halton Region and the partnering community organizations have pooled their expertise and resources to help change this statistic and ensure par- ents know what local resources and supports are available to them. It is part of the region's ongoing commit- ment to support child and youth devel- opment, and work with the community to achieve the best possible health and wellbeing for all.
