TSD HNE ASNECIL Residents of Halton Hills, along with about 1,600 area schoolchildren, gathered Thurs- day at local cenotaphs to pay tribute to veterans' sacrifices and achievements. At the cenotaphs in Georgetown, Acton and Glen Williams, walkers placed their candles at the base of the cenotaph and bow their heads in tribute to veterans. Having placed the candles, participants showed their gratitude by shaking hands with all veterans in attendance such as Devin Cartwright, a Grade 5 Harrison Public Schools student, who shook the hand of veteran Shel Lawr as Major Jack Harrison looks on.
