On June 10 at 6 p.m. there is a celebration for all current volunteers in Halton Hills. Join the Town of Halton Hills staff and fellow volunteers for "Thanks a Latte," a special evening of recognition. Lunch on Friday, June 13 will be salad and sandwiches and of course dessert. If you are inter- ested please drop in, pay and add your name to the list. Where else could you get a delicious lunch and such great company in such a beautiful setting? You could even stay for bingo if you wish. Real Tetreault has been the Social committee chair for the past four years, and is taking a well-earned break. He has done a wonderful job of entertaining us with music and food with the help of his great committee. I know if you are willing to take on this position you would have lots of help. Thirty-one members and friends from the Acton and Georgetown Centres enjoyed playing golf on a beautiful day last week. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the lunch. Some even had the energy to play another round after lunch. We are looking forward to the next game which will be in Sept. On Friday, June 6 the Town of Halton Hills is hosting a Com- munity Covenant for Veterans and their families, 1-3:30 p.m.. Everyone is invited to the cer- emony for the reading and sign- ing of Covenant. I understand that Phyllis Bunn (one of Acton's vets) will be signing on behalf of Acton. There will be light re- freshments, musical entertain- ment, photographs and memen- tos of local veterans. What a wonderful turnout for the New Member Gathering. From what I hear many of those present are ready to get involved in Centre activities. We look forward to see- ing you more often. Tickets are now on sale for our new Lottery. It is a great chance to win a grand prize of $5,000 along with some smaller prizes of $100 each. Draws to be made in Octo- ber. June is Seniors' Month and we are celebrating on Friday, June 20 with an instructed walk on the trails at the Gellert Centre begin- ning at 10:30 a.m. After the walk there will be a demonstration and Q and A from the Family Golf Academies Golf Pro.
