The said amending by-law comes into force on June 9, 2014, and increases the education development charge on residential development to $3,380.00 per dwelling unit and the education development charge on non-residential development to $0.87 per square foot ($9.36 per square metre) of gross floor area. In the last week and half, about 35 signs promoting the annual Father's Day event in Cedarvale Park have gone missing from loca- tions throughout Halton Hills. The promo- tional signs had been posted on both public and with permission on private land. There is no sign of the signs; none remain behind damaged or dismantled, they have just disappeared. Classics organizer Jamie Watt said the loss-- worth about $1,500-- is sig- nificant for the volunteer organization, which gives its proceeds from the annual event to an organization aiding people with cancer. The thefts have been reported to Halton Regional Police, and organizers have also talk- ed to the Town of Halton Hills to see whether Town employees may have taken the signs down when maintaining the boulevards. Classics Against Cancer group wants its stolen signs back Two Toronto residents have been charged in connection with the theft of about $1,300 worth of shoes from the Hudson's Bay Outlet at Toronto Premium Outlets Friday afternoon. Police say a loss prevention officer saw a man handing several shoes to a woman who put the shoes in a hidden pocket in her dress. The couple left without paying and was stopped by the security officer, who contacted Halton Police. Charged with failing to comply with recognizance and theft under $5,000 is Antoni Kowalski, 32. Charged with theft un- der $5,000 is Patrycja Boguslawska, 30. •••• A Georgetown man was charged follow- ing an incident on a bus May 31 in the Moore Park Cr. and Main St. N. area at about 11 p.m. Police report occupants of the bus were taking part in a pub-crawl and near the conclusion of the trip there was an incident between two passengers-- a male and female. Police say the female victim reported to police the male grabbed her by the hair and allegedly struck her in the head. When police arrived the man had already left the area in a taxi.
