There are a couple of big events slated for this Saturday in George- town--the 39th-annual George- town Highland Games and the Downtown Georgetown Festival. Scottish culture and heritage will be celebrated Saturday at Georgetown Highland Games, which will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Georgetown Fairgrounds. There will be pipe bands, high- land dancing and heavyweight events (both men and women) throughout the day. Children's ac- tivities will include a dress up pho- to booth, balloon character maker and a bouncy castle. Other events will include massed bands, a clan village and 78th Fraser Highland- ers. Dancing competitions begin at 8:30 a.m. The Clan Parade starts at noon, followed by the official open- ing at 12:15 p.m., Massed Bands at 1 p.m. and Massed Highland Fling at 1:15 p.m. Up to 80 dancers are expected to perform following the opening ceremonies. The 78the Fraser Highlanders York Garrison will do a Historical Regimental Reenactment.
