Shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, July 7, a family was driving their vehicle along Highway 7 near Trafalgar Road, Halton Hills. The vehicle directly behind them was following too closely and the driver seemed to be looking for an opportunity to pass that was not readily available. Once the opening presented itself, the driver of the vehicle attempting to pass, did so, and while doing so, threw a block made of steel through his passenger window and into the partially open driver's window of the vehicle being overtaken. The steel block shattered the glass, caus- ing injury to the driver and showering two children in the back seat with glass fragments. The children, aged five and 3 months were assessed by EMS following the incident and treated for glass shards striking their faces and eyes. The licence plate of the offender was ob- tained and police commenced an investiga- tion. Yesterday the driver turned himself into police and is facing several charges. Charged is Edwin Hepburn, 27 of Acton. He is charged with Mischief Endangering Life, Dangerous Driving, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief. Man charged in road rage incident A 27-year-old woman was flown by ORNGE Air Ambulance to hospital after her sport utility vehicle left the roadway on Maple Ave. in Georgetown Tuesday and came to rest on the CN Rail tracks. She was taken to hospital as a pre- caution but did not suffer any injury. Halton Regional Police said a call was received at 7:17 a.m. about a vehi- cle that had left the road traveling east- bound on Maple Ave., smashed through a guardrail on the front lawn of the Hal- ton Hills Fire Department station and rolled down an embankment onto the CN Rail tracks. GO Train service on the Georgetown line was delayed for about a half an hour. The vehicle was towed away and rail service resumed following an in- spection by CN officials.
