Marlene Sampaio (right) of Marlene Sampaio's Music Studio received an iSCORE Teach- ing Award at The Royal Conservatory of Music Summer Summit in Toronto earlier this month. The award was presented by Dr. Rena Upitis Professor of Arts Education from Queen's University. iSCORE is a web-based tool designed to support students and teachers learning together in studio music settings. Sampaio was recognized for her outstanding efforts to integrate iSCORE into her teaching practice. Sampaio has been teaching piano in Georgetown since 2006 and has maintained a full-time home studio teaching students from Georgetown, Brampton, Acton and Caledon.
