Starring as Roy Orbison will be the incredible Bernie Jessome,widely regarded as one of North America's finest Roy Orbison impersonators. In addition to capturing the trademark look of the music legend, Bernie's amazing vocal range mirrors the remarkable, unmistakable presence of Orbison himself. This unique performance will mix favourite Orbison hits coupled with some interesting and witty dialogue relating to the music legend that Jessome learned while touring extensively with Roy's brother Sam Orbison in "The Roy Orbison Story". Calls keep firefighters busy Monday, July 7, 3:33 p.m. - Firefighters respond- ed to a burn complaint in the area of 10 Sideroad and Fourth Line. On arrival two large burn piles on fire were found approximately 8-by-8 feet. The owner did not have a per- mit and the fire was extinguished. The open air burn permit process was explained to the owner. 8:05 p.m. - Firefighters respond- ed to an alarm activation in the area of Guelph Street and Brucewood Road. Staff met with the custodial staff that was cleaning when the alarm system activated. Crews in- vestigating found a sprinkler head in the freezer room of the kitchen had activated and flooded the area. Firefighters assisted with cleanup and the water to the sprinklers in that area was shut down. The alarm was taken off line and building per- sonnel was staying on site until the alarm/sprinkler technicians arrived to fix the problem. 9:30 p.m. - Firefighters respond- ed to a burn complaint in the area of Steeles Avenue and Sixth Line. Staff searched the area and could not find anything. 10:17 p.m. - Firefighters re- sponded to an odour investigation on Split Maple Lane. Staff met with the homeowner on scene who advised that their daughter could smell a burning odour coming from the upstairs. Staff conducted a thor- ough search of the home using the multi-gas detectors and the carbon monoxide (CO) monitors and noth- ing was found. The homeowner was advised to call back if they smelled the odour again. Tuesday, July 8 7:12 a.m. - Firefighters responded to an ambulance assist on Elizabeth Street. While en route, staff were ad- vised they were no longer required. 7:19 a.m. - Firefighters respond- ed to a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision in the area of Stewart Ma- cLaren and Maple Avenue. A vehicle went off the road and down an em- bankment landing on its wheels on the rail tracks below. Ambulance and Halton Regional Police were on scene. Staff assisted ambulance with patient stabilization and trans- port.
