At a cost of approximately $260,000, the new vehicle can carry 18 ambulatory passengers (or three wheelchairs and a dozen ambulatory passengers) at one time and accommodates about 40 to 50 riders on an average day of usage. Paul Sargent, the Town's supervisor of Fleet & Transit, said the new ActiVan was manufactured by International with a cab- in chassis on an El Dorado low floor cut- away body, which should result in fewer maintenance concerns and better stability.
