The 16-year-old Georgetown District High School student qualified to compete at the OSG by earning a spot on the Cen- tral Zone Archery Team, which was com- prised of both male and female athletes ranging in age from 14 years to 20 years old. Shooting 90 arrows each day over 3 distances-- 55, 45 and 35 metres-- Chubb placed sixth in the cadet female recurve division. Submitted photo Tyke Gladiators reach new heights The Georgetown tyke Gladiators ac- complished something that no Halton Hills Minor Ball Hockey League team has done before, winning a provincial title after taking top spot in their division at the recent Ontario Ball Hockey Fed- eration championships in Guelph. After cruising through the prelimi- nary round with a 3-0 mark, the Gladi- ators trailed Milton 1-0 in the late stages of their semifinal matchup, but tied the score and won the contest in overtime. Georgetown faced Guelph in the final and held off a late charge to grab gold. Preliminary round-- Georgetown 11, Toronto 0; Georgetown 9, Burling- ton 1; Georgetown 9, Oakville 0 Semifinal-- Georgetown 2, Milton 1 (OT) Final-- Georgetown 2, Guelph 1 Fifteen-year-old fencer Nata- sha Kasunic of Acton earned two bronze medals at the recent Ontario Summer Games in the Windsor area, just missing out on a gold in one of her events. Kasunic, a member of the Escarpment Fencing Club, was edged out by a mere one point in the Youth (un- der-15) Sabre and was third in the Cadet (under-17) class with dad Mike serving as coach/manager.
