Handmade in Halton presents its first ever Crafting for Cans Online Auc- tion in which local Georgetown craft- ers have come together to donate items to be auctioned off online. The public can bid non-perishable food items to win the listed items; all in support of the George- town Bread Basket. The auction will take place Sept. 25-30 on www. facebook.com/hihcom- munity Handmade in Halton was created in July of 2013. The vision was to create an environment where hand- made/homemade crafters could come together and share their crafts within the Halton region. (Facebook: Hand- made in Halton--Halton Hills/Milton or Handmade in Halton--Burlington/ Oakville) Upon announcing the auction the admins of Handmade in Halton were contacted by various retailers of at home and local small businesses in an effort to contribute to the auction. "This started off as a handmade event, but then we had an outpour- ing of support from oth- er businesses within the community who wanted to donate. How could we say no? Our goal is to support the food bank through accepting these donations; the more the merrier! After all, this is community helping community at its finest," said Tina Pedersen, one of the organizers. Some of the auction items up for grab include: candles, tote bags, blan- kets, sheet sets, salon gift certificates, personal training sessions, etc. Handmade in Halton holds first online auction for food bank Nashville North Slammer to feature Brazilian artist
