Due to the increase in police pa- trols in the area, a Halton Regional Police officer observed the suspect entering a taxi cab and upon stop- ping the cab, subsequently arrest- ed the individual without incident. Patrols have been increased in Halton Hills after a rash of day- time residential break and enters were reported on Friday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 8. In response to the recent escalation in neigh- borhood crime, both uniform and plainclothes officers conducted di- rected patrols in the area. Further investigation revealed that the accused was responsible for a total of eight break and enters in the Halton Hills area (including those reported on Sept. 5 and 8). Jonathon Forgie, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with eight counts of break and enter and one count of assault. He was subse- quently held for bail.
