•The IFP• H alton H ills, Thursday, Septem ber 18, 2014 27 DENTURE "SORE SPOTS": The main reason for having sore spots is ill-fitting dentures. Your mouth is constantly changing and your gums are constantly shrinking. Also denture wear causes discomfort. It is always important to note that an illfitting denture does not have to be worn out "old"denture. It is possible to have a new denture that is ill-fitting, but for many different reasons. It might not have been made right from the start. OTHER REASONS FOR HAVING SORE SPOTS: As you get older, your body goes through many changes. Tissue can become more sensitive to pressure which can cause irritation. Medication can give you a"dry mouth". This makes it more difficult for the denture to suction to the roof of your mouth. It also can cause rubbing which causes sore spots. If you are having trouble with sore spots, contact our office for a free, no obligation consultation. You do not need a referral; simply call our office direct. ALEX TRENTON, DENTURIST - georgetowndentureclinic.ca 18 Church Street, Georgetown 905.877.2359 Happy 90th Birthday Happy 90th Birthday Buzz!
