Mom & Dad Get busted for a good cause Crime Stoppers of Halton will put some completely in- nocent people from the local community behind bars this Friday. These inmates can then ex- pect to be mocked in public as they try to round up some cash to get out of jail. The suspects will get their day in court Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the George- town Market Place and the trials are open to the public to attend. Among the notable "crimi- nals" participating in the Jail- A-Thon on Friday at George- town Market Place will be school principals Darlene White of Acton High School, Nick Varricchio of Georgetown District High School, Rocco Dianni of Christ the King Cath- olic Secondary School, as well as Herminia Henderson and Wendy Weatherall of George- town Market Place and Rory Narine of Cogeco. "We are looking forward to putting on a good show and raise awareness for this impor- tant organization that is help- ing keep Halton Region one of the safest regional communi- ties in Canada," said Jennifer Olchowy, Chair of Crime Stop- pers of Halton, a charitable, non-profit organization. The Jail-a-Thon features a roughly 10'x10' makeshift jail in the centre court of the mall.
