QUALIFICATIONS TO VOTE - SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION A person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality, or in territory without municipal organization within the area of jurisdiction of the district school board if, on voting day, he or she is: • A Canadian citizen; • At least 18 years of age; • Has not already voted in the election for school trustees elsewhere in the school board's jurisdiction; • A resident in the Town of Caledon or is the owner or tenant of a residential property, or is the spouse of such owner or tenant; and • Is not otherwise prohibited from voting. ALTERNATE VOTING METHOD The Town of Caledon adopted By-law 2006-103 to provide for the use of optical scanning vote tabulators for the purpose of counting votes. The Town of Caledon will be using vote tabulator machines and electronic voter management for the 2014 Municipal Election. PROXY VOTING NOTICE is hereby given that the period for certifying Proxy Applications for voting by Proxy in accordance with Section 44 of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, is from Tuesday, September 16th, 2014 to Monday, October 27th, 2014 during regular office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall, Legislative Services Section.
