Relax… we've got it covered! Canadian humourist, storyteller, musician and playwright Lorne Elliott is bringing his show of comedy and music theatre to the John Elliott The- atre in Halton Hills on Saturday, Oct. 25. For tickets go to the Box Office: www.haltonhills.ca Elliott's concert perfor- mance is a selection of his current monologues and songs dealing with life expe- rience. Creating new stage material about having to re- define priorities in view of life events is a welcome chal- lenge to this writer and stage performer, who enjoys shak- ing the perceived wisdom of the world around him. His one-man show con- cert presentation is delight- fully foolish, witty and thought-pro- voking. Combining dry humour with musical parodies and skits, Elliott is a shrewd observer of the human animal. Often self-deprecating, always silly and never profane, Elliott's funny is family friendly. For the past 26 years, Elliott has been touring and performing in con- cert in theatres and arts centres across Canada, the U.S. and Australia. He is regularly featured on TV on such pro- grams as The Just For Laughs Festival and Comedy Variety Specials in Cana- da and the US. For 11 seasons, Madly Off In All Di- rections, was Elliott's own CBC Radio Comedy Series which went on till Fall 2006. Elliott is currently developing new projects. Elliott is also a playwright and he received the Play- wrights Guild of Canada 2012 Best New Musical Award for his play, Jamie Rowsell Lives. His first novel, Beach Reading, was published in July 2013 and was selected as a Finalist by Quebec Writers Federation for the Hugh Ma- cLennan Fiction prize. A new novel, titled, The Goat in The Tree, was launched in Toronto in March 2014. "It's great to have nationally-known performers playing here in Halton Hills," said Mayor Rick Bonnette, "Taking in this show on the 25th will be an entertaining break during a busy time." In September, Elliott was featured as a guest on CBC Radio's popular pro- gram, Stuart Maclean's Vinyl Café, and he is often heard as a columnist on CBC Radio's The Next Chapter.
