Pictured above are proprietors Steve Longmead (left) and Andrew Cairo alongside regu- lar store customer Aaron Beam, who got dressed up for the occasion as a Star Wars Imperial Guard. Photo by Eamonn Maher Gamers and hobbyists in the area have a new destination as The Hood- ed Goblin opened for business rcent- ly at the site of the former Halton Hills Sewing & Vacuum at the corner of Mill St. and Guelph St. in George- town. Comic books, the latest video and board games along with other acces- sories and collectibles are in stock and if they're not, co-owners Andrew Cairo and Steve Longmead have ac- cess to an ordering system that re- quires a 25 per cent deposit to have the product sent to its 54 Mill St. lo- cation. Game nights for programs such as Yugich and Magic The Gathering have also started up and weekend tournaments are planned. Cairo said that the store has been in the works for about a year and the idea for The Hooded Goblin name came from brainstorming sessions in Longmead's basement. "We could have just called it An- drew & Steve's Place but we wanted to start a brand that people will come to recognize," Cairo explained. "Myself, my partner and his son came up with a few ideas and we de- cided that a comic character like The Hooded Goblin would be really cool and get people's attention."
