The fourth-annual Dancers for Cancer fundraiser at Christ the King Secondary School held back in April turned out to be the biggest so far as more than 400 students from around the GTA and beyond came together to generate $10,000 for Cancer Assistance Services Hal- ton Hills. Initially organized in 2011 by a group of former CtK students as a dance showcase for local studios, Dancers for Cancer has grown into a day-long marathon competition featuring performers from 18 high schools stretching from Guelph to Whitby. Dancer for Cancer's mission is to help raise awareness, act as a re- source in the fight against cancer and to provide funds to non-profit organizations such as CAShh. Preparations are well under- way for the fifth-annual Dancers for Cancer, to be held at CtK on Wednesday, April 29. For more info, email Tricia Malt- by at maltbyt@hcdsb.org Dancers raise 10Gs for CAShh One of the larger donations received by Cancer Assistance Services Halton Hills each year comes from students and staff members who take part in the CtK Dancers for Cancer competition and the fourth-annual event held in the spring raised $10,000.
