FREE consultation 90 day RISK FREE trial On Saturday, Oct. 25, St. George's Anglican Church will host a wonder- ful evening of delicious food, refresh- ments and great music. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. At approximately 8 p.m., guests will seat themselves in the sanctuary for a live performance of songs of Sting and Coldplay headed by pianist and con- ductor Ron Greidanus. Following the concert the audience will return to the parish hall for desserts, tea, coffee and more. Now, most followers of Ron Gre- idanus will associate him with perfor- mances of Rachmaninoff Concerti and choral renditions of Bach and Handel. But not here! This eclectic artist will be playing music of Coldplay and Sting. Both of these 'pop' musicians steer away from mainstream rock pro- gressions incorporating innovative harmony, interesting instrumentation, and complex rhythms; hence, it is nat- ural for a specialist in Russian piano music to be interested in popular mu- sic of this nature. A note for note performance will in- clude selections such as Coldplay's 'Fix you', 'The Speed of Sound', 'Clocks', 'You're a Sky full of Stars', and Sting's 'Englishman in New York', 'Brand New Day', and 'Fragile'. Tickets for this Benefit Concert & Formal Reception are $100 each (and include a $75 tax receipt). They are available from St. George's church of- fice at 60 Guelph St. in Georgetown. For more information or to order your tickets contact the office at 905-877- 8044, by email at office@stgeorges- georgetown.com or at the church web- site at stgeorgesgeorgetown.com.
