Don't forget to pick up your copy so you can read about all the exciting events that are planned for the next three months includ- ing the Christmas Dinner at Blue Springs on Thursday, Dec. 11. Juke Box will be entertain- ing us again this year. Everyone who attended the Halloween Dance on Oct. 30 had a great time. The deco- rations, music and costumes were great and showed a lot of ingenuity. The men's prize went to Ian McAllister who was dressed as an awesome Trojan Soldier. Eileen Dix won the ladies' prize. She was hard to recognize as a Clown. Tickets are available for the Remembrance Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 12. On the menu is roast beef, mashed potatoes, and for dessert Chudleigh Apple Blossoms. Monty Greig will be entertaining us. Members who were born in either October or November will be invited to the Birthday Tea on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Four more leaves were added to our Tree of Hope in memory of Helen Hore, one from her daughter Tracey and family and one from her Casino Buddies. (She always helped with the 50/50 on the bus), another leaf from the Cen- tre and one from a close friend. That brings the total of leaves on our wall to 207. The wall looks amazing and sets off the beautiful bookcases and recognizes the many people that have been involved in the Centre over the years. Additional money collected was donat- ed to CAShh (Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills) in her memory. On Tuesday, Oct. 28 Merry Little gave a presentation about the services offered by CAShh. They include driving clients to and from appointments, providing hats and wigs, Reiki and emotional support to both patients and their families. They depend entirely on volunteers and donations. On Friday, Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. there is a FREE Aquafit Class at the Acton Pool. Centre mem- bers can also take advantage of a two-week FREE pass to be used at the recreational and day time aqua fit classes at either the Acton or Gellert pools. See staff for more information. Have you checked the lists at the recep- tion desk to see if you can help with some of the items required to help make our Bazaar a great success? It will be held on Nov. 22 and we will be unveiling our sensational calendars featuring members of the Centre. There will be a bake table, crafts, Granny's Attic, Country store, and of course our delicious tea. Lunch on Friday, Nov. 14 will be soup and sandwiches plus dessert followed by bingo at 1 p.m. There will be another Evening of Bingo at the Centre on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. The weekly 50/50 was not won, so the total next week should be over $200. This makes it worth visiting to add your loonie to the box. By JULIE CONROY Hillsview Active Living Centre Acton Lots happening at the Acton ALC
