Lawr, 92, was a private and truck driver with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps who served in Bel- gium, France, Holland and Germany. On Tuesday, local resi- dent Tom Pettingill (left) put on the same British Royal Navy uniform he wore during the Second World War and the former sub-Lt. Engineer was resplendent dur- ing the ceremony held at Georgetown's Remembrance Park on Tuesday morning. The 90-year-old served in the North Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea in many different vessels, such as destroyers, cruisers and repair ships. He emigrated here in 1955 to work on high-tech aircraft with Avro Canada. "Nowadays, (WWII veterans) like us are becoming scarce, so I've worn this the past few years.
