Halton Police remind area residents to keep their vehicles locked after an in- crease over the past week in overnight thefts from cars in Halton Hills. The reported incidents have oc- curred during the overnight hours and involve thieves entering unlocked ve- hicles to steal loose change and other valuables. The latest rash of incidents has oc- curred in the rural areas along Eighth Line through the rural and urban areas of Georgetown, as well as along Winston Churchill Blvd. north of Steeles Ave. In addition to keeping vehicle doors locked, owners can mitigate the risk of theft by keeping valuables out of sight or removing them keeping their vehicles in a garage or well-illuminated area.
