Puck drop at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex rink will be at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. It's free admission and spectators have the opportunity to win door prizes, in- cluding Toronto Maple Leafs' tickets, and make bids in a silent auction on a variety of items. "It's going to be an experience of a life- time for a lot of these girls," said Twisters' manager Rob Young. "We'll host a pre-game meal and open- ing ceremonies and then they'll sit down together and have a little social after the game." The Twisters received an invitation from the Ontario Women's Hockey Asso- ciation about a month ago to play an ex- hibition tilt with the Chinese, who are in Vaughan for a three-month training stint as they build towards the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in 2018 in the Republic of Korea. China is also bidding to host the 2022 Winter Games and appears to have a re- newed interest in supporting its women's program after it placed fourth in the 1998 Olympics. The midget Twisters, with several first- year players, are off to a slow start in Lower Lakes Female Hockey League play and looking to build on their confidence, as well as make some new friends from the other side of the world. "Some of our girls have been trying to learn (Chinese), but also with all the tech- nology now, they can use their IPhones to access an app where they can actually ask questions in English and it will translate over to Chinese and vice versa," Young added. The North Halton midget AA Twisters are excited about their exhibition game against the Chinese women's national team next Friday. Leduc, who had four touchdowns in the team's regular season finale, had to leave the game shortly after with an injury and the Rebels ended up losing 8-7 in the final moments of the contest. Georgetown's senior Rebels were eliminated following a 38-16 loss to the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders in Oakville in the HSSAA Tier II semifinal. Brendan Jacome also found the mark for the 15-3-3-3 Raiders, who outshot the 11- 16 Red Wings 32-28. Georgetown also downed the North York Rangers 3-1 Sunday afternoon on third-period goals by Francois Cote, Carmine Alberga and Scott Em- erson. Goaltender Jack LaFontaine re- corded both wins and the 16-year-old from Mississauga has a 9-2 record in his rookie campaign with the second- best GAA in the OJHL at 1.97. Hladin and his linemate Anthony Marra played in the nine-team Central Canada Cup held at the MasterCard Centre in Toronto on the weekend for Team Oates and won the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Team Nieu- wendyk on Sunday. The Raiders play host to the Toron- to Patriots Wednesday at the Alcott Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. and the Lindsay Muskies come to town Satur- day evening.
