Behold! Year after year, Handel's most fa- mous oratorio heralds the seasons of Advent and Christmas for music lovers. This year, under the direction of harp- sichordist/conductor, Ron Greidanus, the Georgetown Bach Chorale will present this Baroque period masterpiece on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church, and Sunday Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the newly renovated and acoustically enhanced sanctuary of St. John's United Church; both venues located in the heart of downtown Georgetown. Over the past 15 seasons, the Chorale has garnered a strong reputation for presenting this work in a superbly pristine and authentic manner, complete with Baroque orchestra. Special guest Patrice Boileau will be the featured Baroque trumpet player, 'imported' from the Netherlands. Soloists featured from the choir are: so- pranos Jane Potovszky, Celine Moore, Mar- garet Robinson and Carol Lee; contralto Pa- mela Gibson; tenor Marcel van Helden; and bass Bob Knight. Come and experience our offering of 'Good will towards men'! This year the Chorale will be offering free childcare for attendees of the Sunday, Nov. 30 performance. Please pre-register for this service when you purchase tickets by calling Carol Lee at 905-873-8428; for safety reasons we will not be able to accommodate child minding requests for tickets purchased at the door.
