Thursday, December 11, 2014 Special pullout section 4 Pages HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE e leaves are gone and the white stu 's hitting the ground. Many in our community are doing last minute shopping. At George- town Christian Reformed Church (CRC) that signals the season for gift-wrapping at the Georgetown Market Place. e Youth Group of George- town CRC raises funds with gift- wrapping. is keeps the price reasonable on youth mission trips, conventions and spiri- tual retreats. e kids wrap after school and on Saturdays as per their school schedules.  Other members of our church ll up the rest of the shifts.    is is a great opportunity to serve the commu- nity with free wrapping and raise funds with any donations. We love it. Over the last number of years we have donated large sums of the funds raised to di erent community causes including the Georgetown Hospital CT scanner drive, the Bread Basket, the Poppy Fund, Links2Care, and CASHH which we are again supporting with a donation this year. In the past ve years your do- nations have supported youth mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Belize. Last summer a group of youth and adults trav- elled to Corozal Town to do con- struction on Concepcion Presby- terian School.  We mixed and laid all the concrete for the oor of an auditorium, tiled, and painted the walls.    is has created a gather- ing space within their community and given the kids great pride and con dence in their school. We appreciate your sup- port.  With your donations you are changing lives locally as we pay forward a large portion of your donations to a community cause. You're changing youth's lives at our church, enriching them with opportunities to think more globally and to serve. And you are touching communities around the world when we rep- resent Georgetown on our service trips.    ank you!   We could not do this without your support. at's a wrap. Local resident Sarah Tuninga (left) completed her shopping for Christmas on Monday afternoon at Georgetown Market Place and decided to support a good cause at the same time. The Georgetown Christian Reformed Church has set up an area outside Bergsma's Paint & Wallpaper at the Market Place where they'll wrap gifts for the holidays in exchange for a free will donation and church member Jade De Kleer put the fi nishing touches on Tuninga's to-buy-for list. For the past two decades, the Reformed Church has provided the service, with approximately $8,000 in proceeds going to its Youth Program each year.
