The longest night of the year is fast approaching and soon the days will gradually start to get longer and the nights grow shorter. Last year, on  Decem- ber 21, we had the infamous ice storm with blackouts that lasted from a few hours to al- most two weeks. This Sunday we will be led by Sheila Black (Mystic Hearts) and Anthony Barr (Sacred Sevens) as we celebrate the return of light to the northern hemisphere. We will quote the "Wish for World Love" global prayer  while being joined by many other ceremonies and individuals across the planet. To make this a family friendly occasion, the Sacred Fire will be started in Willow Park Ecology Centre earlier this year at 4 p.m. Join us singing some Sacred Sevens' songs as well as other earth mother songs and help us to send out  prayer and gratitude-- one heart- beat, one drum beat, we are all one. To ensure that you take part in the ceremo- ny, please try to arrive before 5 p.m. so that we can smudge everyone before the ceremony. Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight as this is an outdoor event. If you joined with us before, or if you missed the previous events, please feel wel- come to join with us on this momentous oc- casion in a place that was well used by the First Nations in this land. Children are wel- come and encouraged to participate.
