The report also recommends the hiring of an architect to come up with a design and pricing for the renovation of the 1,800 sq. ft. of extra space that has recently become avail- able. Councillors did not support that report, in- stead deferring it for two weeks so they can get more information from Town staff on whether or not it would be better to make improve- ments at the community centre in Cedarvale Park and relocate the seniors centre there in- stead. The Town's plans are to eventually relocate Hillsview Centre Georgetown into Phase 2 of Gellert Community Centre when it is built, but that isn't expected for some time. In October 2014 the Town renewed the seniors centre lease for five years at its 318 Guelph St. loca- tion. Councillor Moya Johnson said the Cedar- vale facility is more central to many of the town's seniors who live in the northern part of Georgetown. "It makes more sense to make the changes to a building we own and move the seniors there," said Johnson.
