Professional Arts Building 99 Sinclair Ave., Suite 210, Georgetown 905-873-6642 Serving the community of Halton Hills and surrounding areas since 1992 The Georgetown The actual cause or event or mechanism of Tinnitus is not known. We know it is real; it is a symptom that something is wrong in the auditory system, but we do not know what that something is. We do know that it is not the patients imagination; it is a physiological or neurological event. There is reason to be hopeful because current research using a Tinnitus model may provide the necessary information for identifying it's cause. IS IT ASSOCIATED WITH HEARING LOSS? In most cases, Tinnitus is associated with some hearing loss. For example, those who have been exposed to excessively loud sounds may have a hearing loss for the high pitched tones. Usually their Tinnitus will be located as a high pitched tone in the region of the hearing loss. In some cases Tinnitus is present where there is no hearing loss and for no discernable reason. ENTERTAINMENT GLT opens Lewis Black comedy, One Slight Hitch, next week Georgetown Little Theatre's next hilar- ious offering in their laugh local season is again dedicated to the exploration of marriage and relationships. But this one, by eminently funny comedian Lewis Black, certainly has a twist. Directed by Steve Prevost and pro- duced by Virginia Bancur, One Slight Hitch is set in upper-middle class sub- urban Cincinnati circa 1981. It opens with teenager PB Coleman (Alexa Leal) introducing her very dysfunctional fam- ily, including parents, Doc and Delia, middle sister Melanie (Carly Bravo) and her eldest sister, Courtney (Esther Chung) who is to be wed that very af- ternoon to the wonderfully solid Harper Whittington (Ryk Simpson). Delia (Ro Palumbo-Coates) is stressed, completing preparations for a lavish wedding that she herself never had. Everything must be absolutely perfect, the dress, the groom and espe- cially the decorations-- if they ever ar- rive! Then, the doorbell rings and Doc (Paul d'Entremont) opens the door to a very unexpected guest, Courtney's affable ex-boyfriend, Ryan (Kristoffer Brown), who is totally unaware of the engagement and, by all accounts, is the polar opposite of Courtney's soon- to-be husband. As in true farce style, PB and Doc try to hide Ryan. and the perfect wed- ding-- well, it now has one slight hitch. The audience is taken on a riotous ride amid a myriad of door slamming, misunderstandings and some very tight close calls. Add to that, Delia getting into Doc's pills and you have the makings of a wonderfully funny and strangely romantic comedy, the perfect entertainment for a night out- even on Valentine's Day. One Slight Hitch will be performed at the John Elliott Theatre, 9 Church St., Georgetown on Feb. 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14 evenings at 8 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8. Tickets: $24 adult; $20 senior 60+; and $5 students with ID. Call the JET Box Office, 905-877-3700 or go online at www.haltonhills/theatre. Further information at www.georgetownlit- tletheatre.ca.
