Submitted photo U-15 Impact earns spot in Bugarski Cup tournament Winning their first tournament together as a team, the Georgetown under-15 girls' Impact emerged victorious from the 12-team Ontario Volleyball Association McGregor Cup under-16 Trillium A event on Saturday in Stratford. The Impact lost its first game of the day but that was it, sweeping through its five matches, including a 25-21, 25-17 triumph over the top- ranked Waterloo Tigers Black in the final, to earn elevation to the championship tier and a berth in the Bugarski Cup provincial champi- onship on March 7 at a yet-to-be-determined location. Coach Tim Davis's squad is looking to jump from the championship tier to the premier loop at the under-15 level with a strong per- formance at an OVA tournament in Barrie this weekend. It was also announced that a postponed contest with the Trenton Golden Hawks has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17 in Georgetown at 7:30 p.m. Local minor baseball groups join forces The newly formed Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association, which has merged the Georgetown and Acton organizations for the 2015 season, has a festival planned for Sat- urday, Feb. 7 at the Cedarvale Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On that day, the new rep team uniforms will be revealed and sizing will be taken for team members. A ceremony will also take place to officially mark the amalgamation.
