One Slight Hitch is a laugh out loud comedy that is guaranteed to quash those Feb- ruary blues-- at least for one night. The play, written by comedian Lewis Black, directed by GLT's Steve Prevost and produced by GLT's Virginia Bancur, opened Friday night at the John Elliott Theatre. Ironically there was one slight hitch in the performance, actor Ryk Simpson was too ill to perform and Prevost stepped into the role of Harper, albeit reading the lines from the script. But that did not distract from the qual- ity of the play because the remaining six actors are of such a calibre that they did not let the "hitch" affect their perfor- mances. All members of the cast are out- standing; casting was well done. The set was perfection-- you knew just looking at it where you were, and the lighting switches were also bang on. The play, set in 1981, had a great soundtrack that had many in the audience bopping their heads in time.
