COMMUNITY St. Andrew's United Church to host World Day of Prayer, March 6 The 2015 World Day of Prayer will be held on Friday, March 6, 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church, 89 Mountainview Rd. S. in George- town. The World Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Friday of March. It is an invitation to Christians to pause and prayer together ecumenically. The Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada and its counterparts around the world sponsor the event. It is cel- ebrated in more than 170 countries around the world and 2,000 communities across Canada. This year, the service has been written by the women of The Bahamas, and cel- ebrates that nation's culture, history, land and legacy. The sounds of the ocean breeze, of Junkanoo, of rake 'n' scrape and the beat of a goombay drum leave us poised to listen to the stories of the women of The Bahamas. It be- gins with the question "Jesus said to them, 'Do you know what I have done to you?'" All men and women from all congregations in the community are invited to join in this ecumenical service of prayer and solidarity with the people of The Baha- mas. Info: the church at 905-877-4482.
