NEWS BURNING BULB Halton Hills Fire Department respond- ed on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 9:22 a.m. to the report of smoke in a home on Gardiner Drive. On scene, staff met with the home- owners who reported a burning smell in the house. Fire staff checked the house and confirmed that the source of the smell was from an overheated light bulb. ELEVATOR RESCUE On Sunday, March 1, Halton Hill Fire Department responded to an elevator res- cue on Maria Street in Acton. On scene staff found a parent with two children trapped in the elevator. Fire staff brought the elevator down to the ground floor and then shut the power off. After sev- eral attempts staff was able to get the doors open and the occupants out. MYSTERY ODOUR Halton Hills Fire Department responded at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 to the re- port of an unknown odour on McCullough Cres. On scene, staff confirmed there was an odour in the area of McCullough Cres., and also under the railway bridge into the area of Berton and Mowat streets, but were un- able to locate the source of the smell as the odour eventually had diminished.
