The award was announced at a gallery show at the Art Director's Club in New York, New York on Feb. 24. Doyle, 19, a Bachelor of Pho- tography student at Sheridan Col- lege, was chosen to participate in the Young Photographer's Al- liance, 2014 mentoring program and international photo competi- tion. She, along with three other youths between the age of 19 and 30, were selected to be members of the Canadian team in the international competition. In total 46 students from across the U.S., Canada and U.K. had their photo series and essays displayed at the New York gallery show. After all the images and essays were judged the Canadian team was selected as the overall winner of the competition. The exhibition explored the theme of boundaries. "Boundaries and being bound by its very defi- nition means being constrained, for me there are no greater constraints than those I find within my own mind," explained Doyle. "In my series I attempted to touch on something more profound than to simply point out where a bound- ary lies. Instead I tried to delve into the subject's heart, to look at what an internal boundary really is and what it would look like as a physical mani- festation."
