Helson, 93, was named earlier this month as Citizen of the Year for his longtime volunteering and philanthropic dedication to the community of George- town. Helson is a longtime supporter of the Georgetown Hospital and in 2011 made $1-million donation to its Foundation. He is a patron of the local arts scene con- tributing to many organiza- tions such as GLT, Globe and others.
