The Town of Halton Hills is no exception with the number of employees who landed on the 2015 "Sun- shine List" (public sector employees who earned $100,000 or more in 2014) up again from the previous year. In 2014, 36 Town employees made the annual list just released by Ontario's Ministry of Finance, up from 34 in 2013. CAO David Smith was the top earner at the Town, bring- ing in $201,193. Director of Recreation and Parks Terry Alyman, Director of Corporate Services and Treasurer Ed De- Sousa and Director of Infra- structure Services Chris Mills each earned $155,152. Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette earned $131,346. Nearly 500 Halton Region employees made the 2013 list, but that number jumped to about 750 in 2014. Last year Halton's Assistant Medical Officer of Health Monir Taha earned $271,917, and Region CAO Jane McCaskill brought in $264,942. Other employees with hefty pay cheques included Commissioner, Leg- islative and Planning Services and Corporate Counsel Mark Meneray who earned $250,087 and Commis- sioner Social and Community Services Sheldon Wolf- son who was paid $219,717. Halton Region Chair Gary Carr earned $215,592.
