We welcome your comments on this matter. NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING You are invited to attend a Public Meeting to be held by the Council for The Corporation of the Town of Caledon to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. Staff and external review agencies have prepared comments to present at this meeting. Your attendance and comments at this meeting are also welcome as it is your opportunity to learn about the application and express any opinions that you may have. Please note that a recommendation on the application will not be presented at the Public Meeting. A final recommendation regarding this application will be made at a future Council Meeting. Date: Wednesday April 22, 2015 Time: 7:00 p.m. Place: Council Chambers, Town Hall Town of Caledon 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East, L7C 1J6 Prior to the Public Meeting, an informal information session will be held in the main lobby outside Council Chambers with respect to the application. PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT Recently approved amendments to the Town of Caledon Official Plan have been implemented to reflect the latest changes to Provincial Policy with respect to agricultural uses. These changes encourage on-farm diversification, agri-tourism, agriculture-related commercial and agriculture-related industrial uses. The purpose and effect of this Zoning By-law amendment is to implement the updated policies of the Town's Official Plan. The intent of this amendment is to enhance the long term viability of farm operations within Caledon as well as to encourage appropriate economic development within the agricultural community. PROPOSAL The proposed Town-wide Zoning By-law amendment will permit additional agriculture-related uses within Agricultural and Rural zones. On-Farm diversified use, agri-tourism, farm-based alcohol production facilities, agriculture-related industrial and agriculture-related commercial uses have been added to select Agricultural zones with associated General Provisions to regulate their operation, limit their size, etc. In addition, minor editorial changes have also been made to certain definitions and zone standards, where necessary. LIST OF PLANS, REPORTS AND STUDIES In accordance with the Town's Official Plan, the following plans, reports and studies have been prepared in support of the application: • Summary Table of the modified Zone standards, definitions and provisions. • Draft Amending By-law. APPEAL PROCEDURES (BILL 51) If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Corporation of the Town of Caledon before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Caledon to the Ontario Municipal Board. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to The Corporation of the Town of Caledon before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
