More than 70 guests were in attendance, including representatives from CVC's Board of Directors. Halton Hills area residents Geoff and Shanna Maltby were honoured with a Conservation Award of Distinction for protect- ing drinking water through environmentally friendly land management practices. The Maltby family built a structure to control waste contamination from livestock, decommissioned an unused well and fenced off a wetland to keep livestock out. They helped threatened grassland birds by participated in CVC's Bird-Friendly Certified Hay program. Their efforts show how responsible practices on one property can have a big impact on the community as a whole.
