Increased traffic volumes along this corridor reinforces the need to consider improvements. This study will assess current and future transportation demand and develop and evaluate suitable alternative solutions to safely and efficiently accommodate traffic along this corridor. Alternative solutions that may be considered include Glen Lawson Road / Third Line intersection improvements and/or new alignments from the Acton Urban Boundary to Fourth Line. STUDY AREA STUDY PROCESS The Town of Halton Hills has identified the need to undertake a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study, as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association MCEA (October 2000, as amended in 2007 and 2011). The study process will include the development and evaluation of suitable alternative solutions. Following this, a preferred solution will be selected to safely and efficiently accommodate various modes of transportation along the Glen Lawson Road / Third Line corridor. STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION Stakeholder consultation is a key component of this study. The project team is committed to meaningfully engaging stakeholders, including review agencies and members of the public in identifying a preferred solution. Consultation with various stakeholders will occur throughout the duration of the study. The following formal consultation opportunities are planned: Stakeholder Group Meetings (3) and Technical Agencies Committee Meetings (3) Public Meetings (2)  June, September and November 2015  September and December 2015 The project team will present pertinent study information and findings, obtain input, and address various comments and concerns through the various consultation opportunities. Adam Bell, A. SC. T x632 The Robotics Team 4976 from Georgetown District High School posted a couple of impressive top-10 finishes at FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technol- ogy) competitions in North Bay and Windsor in just the sec- ond year of the program here. This year's theme was 'Recycle Rush,' challenging the teams to build robots that can stack plastic tote boxes. The North Bay event had a field of 36 entries with each school's 45-kg robot working in alliances of three teams to out-stack the opposing group. The Rebels improved in each match, working out the kinks along the way and after being drafted into an alliance involving two other Halton schools in the quarterfinals, they placed fourth. The following week, Team 4976 performed better overall, obtaining two recycling containers during the autonomous mode to make the Rebels an ideal alliance candidate. They placed 10th in that competition, earning the Most Creative Robot Design Award from the Granville High School Robo- Dawgs. NEWS Georgetown District High School's Robotics Team 4976. Urquhart read an excerpt from her book, took questions from the audience, and concluded her visit with a book signing.  Submitted photo The Wellington-Halton Hills Federal Liberal Association (WHHFLA) will host a contested nomination for the selec- tion of a Liberal candidate for the forthcoming Federal elec- tion on May 13, at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre. The two contestants vying for the nomination are Dr. Don Trant of Georgetown and Andy Mimnagh of Hornby. Speeches will start at 7 p.m. and voting will close at 9 p.m. Voting is restrict- ed to registered party members on record as of April 22. Liberal nominee to be decided May 13
