ENTERTAINMENT Rising stars to be featured in second Music in May concert series Music in May Concert Series con- tinues at St. John's United Church on Sunday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m.-- the second concert of the three-part series. This concert will feature rising stars Tyler Brown, a Georgetown pi- anist, and from Orangeville, singer/ songwriter/guitarist/pianist Juliette Pomeroy. These two talented young people will perform a lively pro- gram of solo piano, Broadway fa- vourites and contemporary songs. Brown is completing his third year in Piano Performance at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University. Pomeroy is an accomplished musical theatre lead, an honour roll scholarship high school student, the 2014 Or- angeville and District Music Festi- val's Most Promising Musician and a guest conductor of the Toronto Symphony. Sounds like two very good rea- sons to stay in Georgetown during the long weekend. On Sunday, May 24 at 2:30 p.m., the final concert features George- town's own, baritone Russell Braun and his wife, pianist Carolyn Maule with Toronto soprano Monica Whicher, in a program of French and English repertoire they've en- titled, "Night and Day". Concert tickets are $25 for adults/$10 for students. For ticket information, you can call the St. John's church office at 905-877- 2531 or email office@stjohnsuc.ca. Tickets are also available at the door.
