Valerie is always looking for opportunities to go above and beyond expectations and is very driven to achieve her personal best. Within the school community, Valerie is involved in all pos- sible clubs and activities (i.e. Green Team, Volleyball, Choir, Intramurals, Cross Country running, Morning Announcer), and is encouraging and supportive of her peers. Valerie exemplifies leadership and citizenship in all aspects of the Limehouse school community. Congratulations Valerie! Rachel Arsovski Park Rachel, a Grade 5 student, demonstrates excel- lence in a variety of areas at school. Her personal qualities are numerous and include responsible, reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, kind, helpful and well-behaved. On a daily basis, you will find her participating in different activities around the school including volleyball, choir, recorder club, Minecraft club, Green Team and dance club. Initiative could be Rachel's middle name as she has organized and taught the dance club for Park students for the past two years. This year, she brought the concept of the Buddy Bench to the school and brought it to life through announcements, as- semblies, classroom visits and the buddy bench sign she created. As a student, she always puts forth her best effort and is persistent with all tasks. Ryan Burt Joseph Gibbons Ryan, a Grade 5 student, has been involved in many activities at Joseph Gibbons including volleyball, relay, track and field, Kindergarten Helper, morning announc- er and Spirit Club. Ryan is strong academically and ex- hibits leadership in sports. Michael Holmes McKenzie-Smith Bennett Michael has exemplary learning skills and his dedication and commitment enable him to excel in all academic areas. The Grade 8 student listens at- tentively and he is a collaborative problem solver. He is kind, caring and helpful exemplified through his compassionate involvement as a Special Athletes Coach and peer mentor to students in the Life Skills class. Michael is a quiet leader and an active mem- ber of the Athletic Council, Student Leaders, the GSA, the Safe Schools Action Team, the Grade 7/8 Volleyball Team, Flag Football Team and Cross Country Team as well as a member of the School Band. In addition, he is the school's Student Trustee for Halton's Student Senate. He is also involved in competitive sports outside of school. Michael is a person of excellence. His character, his thoughts, his words and actions help to make his school a better place. Julia Schicht Pineview Hard-worker, leader, kind, helpful. These are just a few of the qualities that Julia Schicht portrays. The Grade 5 student is a strong student, who also takes the time to assist her peers when she's able. Out- side of the classroom, Julia is highly involved in the school community through activities such as intra- murals, library dragons, choir, and as a bus buddy. In these roles, Julia is not only a participant, she is a leader. She has taken the ini- tiative to begin a journalism club for junior students where they prepare articles for the monthly newsletter. Through her kind and caring nature, Julia is always willing to help others, including the younger students at the school. Because of all these qualities and more, she is a wonderful role model to her peers and other students at Pineview. Paige Bottos Harrison Paige, a Grade 5 student, is a leader in her classroom and school community. She models our 5 C's at school (Caring, Citizenship, Coop- eration, Courage and Com- mon Sense). Paige becomes involved in opportunities for clubs, extracurricular ac- tivities and volunteer jobs around our school community. She is a good problem solver and is able to use many strategies from Kelso's Choices and considers other people's feelings when there is conflict.
