NEWS Georgetown resident Dieter Pagani has been appointed for a second term as Chair of the Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre's (CCAC) Board of Directors. Pagani, a consultant at dP and Associates, was appointed June 3. He has more than 30 years of experience in the informatics field with extensive IT/IM experience in govern- ment, private and the health care sectors. For the past six years, Pagani has served on the Mississauga Halton CCAC Board of Directors, serving on the Patient Care Quality, Governance and Audit and Resource Com- mittees. His community service also includes serving as Past President of the Board of Di- rectors for Peel Children's Aid and as a mem- ber of the Peel District Health Council. A committed leader and volunteer, Pagani is passionate about the Mississauga Halton CCAC's role in the Ontario health care system. "The Mississauga Halton CCAC is the only organization in the region to coordinate such a large range of health and social services that people need to remain safe at home for as long as possible." Pagani says that he is delighted to serve as Mississauga Halton CCAC's Board Chair for a second term. "The Mississauga Hal- ton CCAC supported more than 46,600 resi- dents in our region-- an increase of seven per cent over the past year-- that is one in 26 residents. We know that there will con- tinue to be more growth, change and challenge to the health system; however, the one constant will be our unwav- ering dedication to patients and families in the region." The Mississauga Halton CCAC coordi- nates in-home and community support ser- vices, information and referral, and long-term care placement. It is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care through the Mis- sissauga Halton Local Health Integration Net- work and serves a population of more than one million residents in the communities of South Etobicoke, Mississauga, Oakville, Hal- ton Hills, Georgetown and Milton.
