Williams Mill presents Colour Colour Colour Williams Mill's new show (June 17 to July 5) fea- tures three new artists using different media to showcase beautiful colour. Kathryn Thomson's blown glass bowls and vases have an ethereal, sensuous quality to them. She sandblasts the glass like a painter would mark a canvas, and tells stories as she does so. Painter Kai-Liis McInnes takes themes from her travels; colourful dancers and brightly paint- ed east coast houses, even animals. Valerie Ashbourne creates 'colourscapes' from fabric; using traditional weaving with flow- ing ribbons, fabric and thread. Blues, greens and turquoises are offset by gold threads, purples and other jewel tones. The show's three artists use very different ma- terials, but they are united in the use of vibrant colour. Visit the gallery Saturday, June 20, 2-4 p.m. and meet the artists at the opening recep- tion. The Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre, 515 Main St., Glen Williams.
