He passed away peacefully with family by his side on June 12, 2015, at the age of 59 after a short but courageous fight with cancer. Much loved husband of Barbara Nicholson. Devoted father of Michael, Daryl and Robert (and stepdad to Vanessa and Michelle). Beloved son of Robert and Elizabeth McNeilly. Dear brother of Dave McNeilly (Patsy), Cheryl Donoghue (Dan), Kevin McNeilly (Connie), and Heather Burke (John). Treasured uncle to Robin Overy (Jarrod), Patrick Donoghue, Nicole Crewson (Ryan), Taryn Whittiemore (Lewis), Natalie McNeilly, Megan (Steve), Bobby, and Erin Burke. He will also be forever remembered by his extended family, many friends, colleagues and fellow officers. Raised in Georgetown, Ontario, Gord began his career with the Toronto Police Service in 1976. He was dedicated to serving and protecting the people of Toronto and he impacted many lives. His legacy will live on through the continued work of all of those he has mentored.
